In a bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt. Gently brush the surface of the chouquettes with the egg mixture to ensure they get a beautiful golden color while baking.
Sprinkle each chouquette generously with sugar. This will give each bite a nice crispy texture and a deliciously sweet taste.
Cook :
Bake the baking tray in the center of the oven for 15 minutes, but avoid opening the oven door during baking, as otherwise the choux pastry may collapse.
The chouquettes should be golden brown and puffed up at the end of the cooking time. If they’re not golden brown yet, let them stand for a few more minutes, keeping a close eye on them to prevent them from burning.
Cooling:
Once the chouquettes are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. This will keep them light and airy. You can enjoy them lukewarm or chilled.
Notes:
For a delicious twist, you can add dark or milk chocolate chips to the chouquettes before baking. This will give them a gourmet touch.
For a more subtle flavor, you can also flavor the batter with a little vanilla or orange blossom extract.
Enjoy your chouquettes with a cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy!
